Citizen Star Awards
Grass Valley Citizen Star Award
The City of Grass Valley Citizen Star Award honors individuals whose dedication, service, and character have made a lasting and meaningful impact on our community. This prestigious recognition celebrates those who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to Grass Valley through years of volunteerism, leadership, and civic involvement.
Each recipient is commemorated with a bronze star embedded in the walkway surrounding the historic Stamp Mill Monument at the corner of East Main and South Auburn Streets — a permanent and public tribute to their legacy of service.
Citizen Star recipients exemplify:
- Long-term service to the Grass Valley community
- Outstanding civic involvement and leadership
- Integrity, character, and commitment to the public good
- Significant, measurable contributions that benefit others
Nominations for the Citizen Star Award are community-driven and reviewed by the Historical Commission before final approval by the Grass Valley City Council. Installation of each star is privately funded and publicly celebrated with a dedication ceremony.
