Building Code Adoption

2013 CALIFORNIA BUILDING CODES
These Building Codes are effective as of January 1, 2014.
 

If you are an architect, engineer, designer, contractor, or other person that performs work within the State of California, please be advised that a new building code is in effect on January 1, 2014.

Development Code

This Development Code is enacted based on the authority vested in the City of Grass Valley by the State of California, including but not limited to: the California Constitution; the Planning and Zoning Law (Government Code Sections 65000 et seq.); and the California Environmental Quality Act (Public Resources Code Sections 21000 et seq.).

Zoning Ordinance - Development Code

The City of Grass Valley Development Code carries out the policies of the Grass Valley General Plan by classifying and regulating the uses of land and structures within the City, consistent with the General Plan. This Development Code is adopted to protect and promote the public health, safety, comfort, convenience, prosperity, and general welfare of residents, and businesses in the City.

Streets Division

The City of Grass Valley is continually striving to ensure that the movement of people within public rights of way is as safe and convenient as possible.  Historically, the responsibility for the construction and repair of public streets lies with the City, and the responsibility for the construction and/or repair of sidewalks lies with the property owner.
