Historical Commission

To encourage the preservation of the City's historical and architecturally significant resources, the Historical Commission was formed.  The Commission has identified and designated historical properties within the City and recognized property owners who have maintained or restored these historical properties.

Planning Staff

The Planning Division provides information on land use, zoning and development standards.  Applications are processed for land use permits and land divisions. The Planning Division also performs long-range planning activities, including the implementation of the City's General Plan.

The Planning Division is one of 3 divisions of the Community Development Department and is located in City Hall at the City of Grass Valley.

Agendas are posted in advance of the meetings and made available with Staff Reports and associated Documentation prior to each meeting.

  • Planning Commission meets monthly on the third Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers
  • Development Review Committee meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m. in the Hullender Room
  • Historical Commission meets monthly on the third Thursday at 3:00 p.m. in the Bodmin Room.
