Downtown Parking Study |
|
The City has begun a "Downtown Parking Study" to look at current and future parking demands within the downtown area. The Study will provide information on how the City could design and finance additional parking areas and/or a parking structure that supports the surrounding architecture and historical downtown. Workshops will be held in the Winter of 2006 to discuss this study and gain public input. For more information, contact Dan at 274-4330.

Downtown Hotel/Conference Center Under Construction |

Construction has begun on Gold Miners Inn, a hotel and conference center at 121 Bank Street. It includes hotel rooms, meeting and conference rooms, commercial/ retail space, a parking lot, landscaping and related improvements. Construction will take approximately one year with an anticipated completion time of winter 2007. For more information, contact Dan at 274-4330. |

Business License Renewals |

Are you a cosmetologist, real estate agent or other independent contractor working in the City of Grass Valley?
Anyone doing business in the City limits of Grass Valley and anyone coming into the City limits to conduct business is required to have a Business License. All Business Licenses expire on December 31st of each year. All current businesses should have received a renewal notice prior to December.
If your business is located downtown, you may be in the Grass Valley Downtown Assessment District. The minimum yearly fees are $100.00 for Zone 1 and $75.00 for Zone 2 and are billed annually along with the Business License fee.

Development Code Update Moving Forward |

The City is continuing to move forward with its first comprehensive update of the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances since 1965 and 1975, respectively. The goal of the update is to modernize the code, and create development standards that will reflect, enhance, and preserve the historic character of Grass Valley. There will be a series of workshops to review current and proposed development standards. For more information contact Tom at 274-4330.
