Council Update |
|
Council meetings are regularly held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at 7 p.m., Planning Commission meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambrs of Grass Valley City Hall at 125 East Main. If you can’t attend a meeting, you can watch it “live” or see a rebroadcast at 7 p.m.on Comcast channel 14 on the Friday and Sunday evenings following the meetings.

Wolf Creek Parkway |

The process to define a preferred alignment for the Wold Creek Parkway continues to progress. The Wolf Creek Parkway will be a multi-use trail that may someday allow residents and visitors to walk, jog or pedal their way from McCourtney Rd. to Sutton Way through downtown Grass Valley. Summer Fun |

The Memorial Park P ool opens on Monday June 13th. Open swim is offered Monday to Saturday from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. Family Fun nights are every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Call 477-4650 for details. Also, swim lessons are held Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. For more information call Jill at 268-4567. Thanks to the Superintendent of Schools there will be a supervised Summer Recreation Program at Memorial Park. The program will involve games, songs, sports and arts and crafts from June 20th to August 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tennis Anyone? Tennis lessons are offered to both youth and adults at Memorial Park. The next Session begins on July 7th and the cost is $50 per person. For more information contact Sandy at 477-6483. The 15th annual Bob Watson Memorial Over the Line Tournament will be held on Saturday and Sunday September 24th and 25th. Entries will be taken in advance at City Hall or on Friday, September 23rd from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Les Eva Field in Memorial Park. It’s not too late to sign up for soccer. Gold Country Youth Soccer is still accepting players for the season that begins on August 27th. Call 272-5357 for details or go to: www.gcyslsoccer.org.

Fireworks |
|
The 4th of July will be here soon and will you and your family be safe and within the law when using fireworks? The City has new restrictions on fireworks usage and fireworks are not to be used in the unincorporated areas of Nevada County. When purchasing fireworks, read the handouts you receive for clarification on what is allowed. Fireworks can only be used on July 4th between the hours of 6 p.m. and 12 midnight. Informational handouts are available at City Hall and at all City fire stations.
