Section 5.36.090 Investigation--Denial.

The character and fitness of every applicant for a license under this chapter shall first be investigated by the police department before any license or identification card shall be issued. If, after conducting such investigation, the police department finds that the applicant has, within three years prior to application, been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony which relates to activities performed pursuant to a license issued under the provisions of this chapter, the police department shall recommend the denial of such license and identification card. Such recommendation shall be transmitted to the city clerk; the city clerk shall thereupon notify the applicant of such fact. (Prior code § 17-9)
