Chapter 5.16 CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISE
Section 5.16.260 Construction standards.
A. The company shall comply with all
applicable city construction codes and permit
procedures. The city shall be entitled to charge the company reasonable permit and inspection
fees to recover special nonrecurring inspection costs imposed by the cable system construction.
B. All construction practices shall
be in accordance with all applicable sections of federal
and state Occupational Safety and Health Acts and any amendments thereto as well as all state
and local codes, where applicable.
C. All installation of electronic
equipment shall be of a permanent nature, durable, and in
accordance with provisions of the National Electrical Code as amended and as applicable to
cable television system construction, and in accordance with all applicable state and local codes.
D. Antenna supporting structures (towers)
shall be painted, lighted, erected and maintained
in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations of the Federal Aviation Administration
and all other applicable state and local codes and regulations.
E. All of the company's plant and
equipment in the city, including but not limited to, the
antenna site, headend and distribution system towers, house connections, structures, poles, wires,
cables, coaxial cables, fixtures and appurtenances shall be installed, located, erected, constructed,
reconstructed, replaced, removed, repaired, maintained and operated in accordance with good
engineering practice, performed by experienced maintenance and construction personnel, so as
not to endanger or unreasonably interfere with the rights of any property owner, nor to
unreasonably hinder or obstruct pedestrian or vehicular traffic. (Ord. 496 § 2 (part), 1993)
