Section 2.32.080 Recommendation to council--Duties and responsibilities generally.

    The parks and recreation commission may make such recommendations to the director of public works and/or the city council as it deems necessary concerning the organization, promotion, conduct and management of programs of community recreation in the city and the establishment of systems of parks, playgrounds and recreation and the acquisition and improvement of recreation facilities within or without the territorial limits of the city. The parks and recreation commission shall have the power and authority to hold public meetings, studies and surveys for the purpose of securing facts and data concerning the matters enumerated in this section. The parks and recreation commission shall have only such powers as are expressly granted by this chapter or by motion of the city council. (Ord. 565 § 1 (part), 1998)
