Chapter 2.32 PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
Section 2.32.050 Meetings.
A. The parks and recreation commission
shall hold regular meetings at such places and such
times as approved by resolution of the commission. The commission may hold special meetings
in accordance with the provisions of the Brown Act. All business conducted at meetings shall be
approved by at least an affirmative vote of three members.
B. The parks and recreation commission
chairperson shall appoint, subject to the approval of
the commission, such committees among the members as he or she deems fit.
C. Any member of the commission who
is absent without cause from two consecutive
regular meetings, or from more than four meetings in any twelve-month period, shall be deemed
to have abandoned membership. The secretary shall immediately advise the commission and
notify the city council of such absences with a statement of the need to declare such office vacant
and appoint a new member. A member is not absent without cause if the member provides the
secretary with a written notice of absence in advance of the meeting, along with a statement of
the cause which is satisfactory to the commission. (Ord. 565 § 1 (part), 1998)
