Section 300-1(c). All existing, new and remodeled commercial, manufacturing and industrial buildings, as well as multifamily buildings exceeding three stories in height shall be wired for electricity in intermediate metal conduit, rigid metal conduit, rigid non-metallic conduit, electrical metallic tubing, or metal-clad cable.

        All Group R occupancies (single family residential) as defined in Table No. 3-A of the 2001 California Building Code, Volume 1, not exceeding three stories in height shall be expressly exempted from these requirements.
