Engineering
Capital Improvements Program
The Engineering Department is responsible for planning and managing the City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP), by preparing (or coordinating) engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid documents, and by inspecting and administrating construction contracts for CIP projects.


WOLF CREEK PARKWAY

Project includes The Grass Valley City Council adopted the Wolf Creek Parkway Alignment Study and Conceptual Master Plan on April 11, 2006.  The Plan will serve as a guide toward the implementation of a multi-use trail along a 2.2 mile section of Wolf Creek between the intersection of Idaho Maryland Road and Sutton Way and Glenn Jones Park.

In fiscal year 2006/07, staff has been directed to return to the City Council with approaches on how to implement and fund the policies and programs for priority segments reflected in the Plan.

MAIN STREET / AUBURN STREET TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODIFICATION

Description: Design and replace the existing traffic signals to provide decorative signals and improve operation.

Contractor: Carter & Burgess, Inc. contracted for Professional Surveying Services
Status:        Scheduled to bid Fall 2007 with Construction Spring 2008

LANE EXPANSION: EAST MAIN STREET, EAST of RICHARDSON STREET

Description:
Widen East Main Street east of Richardson Street in order to lengthen the westbound through/right turn lane and extend the westbound left turn lane.

Contractor: SCO Planning and Engineering contracted for Design Services
Status:        On hold pending resolution of Right of Way issues

MORGAN RANCH and SLATE CREEK SANITARY SEWER LIFT STATION MODIFICATIONS

Description: Construct pumping improvements to the Morgan Ranch and Slate Creek Lift Stations to rehabilitate the lift stations.

Contractor: Sauers Engineering contracted for Design Services
Status:        Scheduled to bid Winter 2006 with construction Summer 2007

CITY TRAFFIC MODEL

Description: Prepare a traffic model for the City's Sphere of Influence.

Contractor: Fehr & Pers Associates
Status:       Contract awarded March 14, 2006

ALTA RESERVOIR COVER REPLACEMENT

Description:
Replace the existing reservoir cover.

Contractor: Sauers Engineering contracted for Design Services
