Capital Improvements Program

The Engineering Department is responsible for planning and managing the City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP), by preparing (or coordinating) engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid documents, and by inspecting and administrating construction contracts for CIP projects.

2010 SIDEWALK ACCESSIBILITY

Description:  Repair Sidewalks throughout town

Contractor:  Various/Multiple
Status:        Ongoing through FY 2011/12

DORSEY DRIVE INTERCHANGE

Description:
Construction of a full interchange at the intersection of Dorsey Drive and SR 20/49, and reconstruction of Dorsey Drive to include; sidewalks, bicycle lanes and transit stops from East Main Street to Pampas Drive.

Construction Management:  HDR, Inc.
Contractor: TBD
Status:        Environmental, design and right of way work completed.  Construction bid issuance planned for fall 2012.

2008 WATER LINE PROJECT

Description:
Replacement of water line in Berryman Street

SR2S - WEST MAIN STREET

Description:
Sidewalk improvements and pavement rehabilitation on West Main Street between Alta Street and the west City Limits

MORGAN RANCH LIGHTING AND LANDSCAPING MODIFICATIONS

Description:
 Modification of the entry island

Description
:  Pavement rehabilitation of various streets throughout the City

2011 STREET REHABILITATION

Description:  Pavement rehabilitation of protions of varous City streets including; Taylorville Road and serveral streets in the St. Patrick's subdivision.

Contractor:  International Surfacing Systems
Status:        Completed December 2011

This project was partially funded by a Rubberized Asphalt Concrete Grant Program from the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle).  Approximately 2,670 California waste tires were diverted from the waste stream for use in this project.


2010 STREET REHABILITATION PROJECT

Description:
Pavement rehabilitation of portions of Idaho-Maryland Road, Sutton Way, Dorsey Drive and the Cypress Hills subdivision.

Contractor:  Intermountain Slurry Seal
Status:        Completed September 2011

This project was partially funded by a Rubberized Asphalt Concrete Grant Program from the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle).  Approximately 2,625 California waste tires were diverted from the waste stream for use in this project.
